ABC Radio National broadcasts The Planet, a daily show that can be heard in all of Australia, Monday through Friday, from 14:15 to 16:00 and repeated late at night starting at 23:15. COMRADSAT, the community radio satellite network in Australia, has a show called Radio Babylon, produced and presented by Seth Jordan. Jordan has been involved with World music for many years. His column, “Listening to the World” is featured in “Rhythms” magazine, and his articles have appeared in “Rolling Stone”, “Diaspora”, “Addicted To Noise” and “Songlines”. He is also Artistic Director for the Bellingen Global Carnival, and has acted as a featured presenter for the CBAA’s national broadcasts from WOMADELAIDE and the East Coast Blues &Roots Festival.


2SER FM (107.3FM) has a show called Powerspot, predominantly world music with a strong bent towards eastern sounds. Wednesday nights 7pm till 8.30pm. Show can be heard on the internet www.2ser.com. PBS is a non-profit co-operative which has been committed to providing progressive public broadcasting in music, comedy, the arts and current affairs since 1979.

    Presented by Stani Goma.
    African music, African artists, African culture and history.  
  • Planetary Chaos
    Thursday 8 - 10pm
    Presented by Systa BB.
    Roll up the carpet and turn up the stereo for the best in ethno-groove, trip-hop and tribal percussion.
  • The Latin Connection 
    Friday 9 - 11am
    Presented by Sarah Tartakover
    Celebrating the diverse music of Latin America and Spain - inc. interviews with local musicians.

    Pure dread reggae in a strictly conscious vein.

Radio Africa. Graeme Counsel hosts a weekly radio program on African music.


Southern FM has a world music show, Fiddlestix, that broadcasts every Thursday night, 10 pm-midnight, on 88.3 Southern FM community radio in Melbourne's South/South East.
